Buckinghamshire is a beautiful county, characterised by its varied landscaped.  Over a third of the county is covered by the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which stretches right across the southern part of Buckinghamshire.

There are over 2,500 miles of public rights of way across the county that include footpaths, bridleways and National Trials.  You will get to experience some of the most spectacular landscapes and have the opportunity to view some of the county's rare and protected species.

The River Thames runs through the heart of the Chilterns and Thames Valley.  Go for a gentle riverboat cruise or enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a tow path walk.

As well as the open countryside, Buckinghamshire offers numerous parks and open space in and around the towns.  The Rye is High Wycombe is an extensive belt of open parkland and Higginson Park in Marlow has a beautiful riverside setting.

Buckinghamshire is also host to a spectacular number of traditional village pubs, which are full of character, charm and offer a welcoming atmosphere.

Buckinghamshire is also well established in providing a range of facilities for business visitors.

From historic houses to modern hotels, our venues can accommodate small meetings up to large dinners and conferences.  Most venues also offer overnight accommodation for guests wishing to extend their stay.

Where Old Meets New

The nation's favourite pastime is well catered for in Buckinghamshire.  There is a wide assortment of excellent shopping facilities from the lively urban centres of Aylesbury and High Wycombe to picturesque market towns, with their traditional high streets and fascinating small shops.

Aylesbury has two modern shopping centres with many top name stores and a historic market.  High Wycombe is also a thriving market town and for people who like the bustling atmosphere of a lively centre, Eden provides excellent shopping facilities.

Small shops and boutiques add much to the attraction of most towns throughout the county.  Amersham, Beaconsfield, Buckingham, Marlow, Princes Risborough, Wendover and Winslow all have shops displaying the owners' personal selection of clothes, shoes, unusual gifts and antiques.

Nearby, Bicester Village offers excellent savings on designer goods and Milton Keynes has a large shopping centre with well known stores and some independents.
