The county covers 50 miles from its southern-most border with the River Thames, to its northern boundary almost half way to Birmingham.
Central London is less than 35 miles from High Wycombe in the south of the county, and less than 50 miles from Aylesbury, the county town. The county is also less than an hour's drive from Oxford and has three major international airports on its doorstep (Heathrow, Luton and Gatwick).
